Aloha Poke Co. is commanding the attention of experienced operators and multi-unit franchisees. The fast-casual concept, which has prioritized sustainability and responsible sourcing as core brand differentiators, has established efficiencies that are already embedded into the brand. This includes operating in small spaces, minimal employee requirements and no need for expensive kitchen equipment such as hoods, grills, fryers or ventilation.
“We understand that it’s a big commitment for a single restaurant, let alone a franchise brand, to source sustainable seafood. But, we know how to get this done with favorable terms for our franchisees,” said Chris Birkinshaw, CEO of Aloha Poke Co. “Adopting responsible sourcing is a pillar of the brand. It’s a clear differentiator for us that no other concept offers.”
These are the brand attributes that led to Aloha Poke Co. signing its first franchise agreement, less than six months since launching a strategic franchise growth initiative. Baryalay “Razi” Razi, an experienced restaurant operator who understands the franchise’s dedication to environmental stewardship, builds upon his restaurant portfolio as he plans to open three Aloha Poke locations in Maryland’s Washington, D.C. suburbs.
Razi’s more than two decades of experience in restaurant operations and management include a long tenure with Whataburger, where he started his career as an assistant manager and worked his way up to director of operations for two of the largest markets in Texas. He now owns five Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits locations in Maryland.
In addition to the brand’s health-forward menu and simplified operations, restaurant industry executives such as Razi have taken an interest in Aloha Poke because of its impressive sales-to-investment ratios.
“I’ve seen the restaurant industry from several perspectives, as a location manager, regional head of operations and as an owner/operator. There’s nothing like Aloha Poke. It will be received extremely well in the communities where we plan to open,” said Razi.
Aloha Poke Co. is actively seeking to grow its fast casual concept with qualified entrepreneurs and experienced franchisees who are looking to open multiple units. Ideal Aloha Poke franchisees have restaurant operations or business management experience, and share the company’s desire to positively impact the country’s need for quick, healthier options.
